Mechanisms

Swing Swivel and Tilt

The mechanism is manufactured from mild steel plate pressed into a shape which gives the strength required to cater for various body weights. The mechanism operates on a coiled spring which is being compressed and de-compressed when going into the tilted position. The tension on the back tilt can be adjusted by means of a round plastic knob. The gas lever of the mechanism has a dual function which locks the mechanism in a forward position as well as operating the gas height adjustment.

The mechanism is imported from Co.fe.mo. The housing of the mechanism is manufactured from die cast aluminium. The mechanism operates on a heavy duty coiled spring which is being compressed and de-compressed when going into the tilted position. The tension on the back tilt can be adjusted by means of a round plastic knob. The gas lever has a dual function which locks the mechanism in a forward position as well as operating the gas

 

Forward Knee Tilt

The mechanism is imported from Co.fe.mo. The housing of the mechanism is manufactured from die cast aluminium. The main advantage of this mechanism is to enable the chair occupant to keep his feet on the ground when going into the tilted position. The mechanism can be locked in five different positions. The tension on the tilting action can be adjusted to suit the user"s weight be means of a plastic knob. The plastic knob is used to compress and de-compress a heavy duty coiled spring.

 

CO.FE.MO Synchro

The mechanism is imported from Co.fe.mo. The housing of the mechanism is manufactured from die cast aluminium. The mechanism has been engineered in such a way that the seat and backrest moves independently from each other when tilting the chair backwards. It also enables the user to keep his feet on the ground when going into the tilted position. The ratio between the
movement of the backrest and seat is 2,7 : 1/for every 2,7 degree"s the backrest moves back, the seat tilts by 1 degree. The mechanism is lockable in any position by means of a set of mechanical clutches. 
 
The tension of the backrest when in the free floating mode is adjustable by means of a round plastic knob which is turned clockwise or anti-clockwise thus compressing and decompressing a hardened heavy duty spring. The levers for the gas height adjustment and for the backrest movement are situated on respectively the right and left front below the seat for easy usage. The seat and backrest is joined/held together by means of a 6 mm mild steel plate secured on both ends with M6 allen cap screws. The width of the backrest bar is 100 mm.
 

Passive Synchro

This imported mechanism is manufactured from mild steel plate pressed into a shape and cast aluminium centered body which gives the additional strength required to cater for various body weights. The mechanism has been engineered in such a way that the seat and backrest moves independently from each other when tilting the chair backwards. It also enables the user to keep his feet on the ground when going into the tilted position. 

The ratio between the movement of the backrest and seat is 2,7 : 1/for every 2,7 degree"s the backrest moves back, the seat tilts by 1 degree. The mechanism is lockable in one position by means of a locking pin. The tension of the backrest when in the free floating mode is adjustable by means of a plastic knob which is turned clockwise or anti-clockwise thus compressing and decompressing a heavy duty spring. The levers for the gas height adjustment and for the backrest movement are situated on the right side of the chair below the seat for easy usage. The seat and backrest is joined/held together by means of a 6 mm mild steel plate secured on both ends with M6 allen cap screws. The width of the backrest bar is 70

 

Rake Adjustable

The mechanism is of the U-channel type made out of mild steel. The backrest of the mechanism is spring loaded and lockable in any position. The backrest bar is covered with an injection moulded plastic bellow (black). A set of mechanical clutches are used to lock the backrest in the desired position. A fingertip lever with a nylon handle is lifted up or down to lock or unlock the clutches to adjust the backrest in the desired position. This can be done comfortably while in the seated position.
